Monica Riordan 2021 State Champion – 100-Meter Hurdles

Greensboro –  Swain’s Monica Riordan won the NCHSAA 1A State Championship in the 100-meter hurdles this past Friday at NC A&T.  Riordan, a senior, finished with a time of 15.13 to take the top honors.  Aniya Brown of North Rowan finished 2nd with a time of 16.66.

Amelia Rogers 2021 NCHSAA State Champion – Pole Vault

Greensboro – Swain’s Amelia Rogers won the NCHSAA 1A State Championship in the Pole Vault event this past Friday at NC A&T.  Rogers, a sophomore, cleared 9’6″ to take the top honors.  Emily Dotson of Pine Lake Prep finished 2nd by clearing 8′.

Lady Devils Add More Gold With 1st Place Finish at Western Regionals

Cherokee – The Lady Devils added to their hardware by winning the NCHSAA Western Regional Track meet this past Saturday, which was held at Cherokee Central.  Monica Riordan (15.17) and Jessie Lohmann (16.2) took 1st and 2nd respectively in the 100-meter hurdles, while Lohmann (48.89) took 1st in the 300-meter hurdles.  Amelia Rogers took top […]
