BRYSON CITY – The Maroon Devils used an explosive 2nd quarter that saw them score 35 unanswered points to take a 48-6 win over Chereokee on Friday. Swain used a potent rushing attack that saw 10 different players rush for postive yardage on the night. On the defensive side Swain limited Cherokee to only 21 yards rushing on 21 attempts.
Swain scored early and often with 6 different players recording a touchdown on the night. Rushing touchdowns came from Spencer McCoy, Blake Wright, Derek Fortner, Taylor Oros, and Devon Cooper. Through the air Raymius Smith found Kobe Toineeta for the first touchdown of the game. Ben Miller and Nelson Pinto both added extra points.
On the defensive side Taylor Oros, Hayden Neadeau, and Zach Weeks led a balanced unit that saw 19 different players contribute a tackle or assist. Angel Bowers had the Devils lone interception.
With the win the Devils move to 6-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
