Bryson City – Swain scored in every inning on their way to a 13-0 Smoky Mountain Conference win on Friday. Behind a solid outing from senior Taylor Day the Lady Devils posted their first shutout of the season. Day finished with a 1 hitter striking out a season high 11, while walking only two.
Callyn Brown went 3-3 with a pair of rbi. Kendall Bowers, who ran for Brown, scored twice and had a pair of stolen bases. Grace Cabe went 2-4 with an rbi and 2 runs scored, Cabe also added 3 stolen bases. Gabby Jones drove in 3 runs with a bases loaded triple.
Leftfielder Erin Jenkins continued her hot play. The senior slap hitter, went 2-3 with 2 runs scored, giving her 10 hits and 7 runs scored in her last four games.
