Kituwah Farm – Swain and Cherokee staged a dual yesterday in the Men’s Smoky Mountain Conference Championship Cross Country meet. It would be the Braves that would prevail in the team championships by the narrow margin of 7 points. Cherokee finished with 37 points on finishes of 2, 3, 6, 10 and 16. The Maroon Devils were second with 44 points on finishes of 1, 5, 7, 14, and 17.
Connor Brown continued his strong year, adding Smoky Mountain Conference Champions to his resume. Brown finished in a time of 17:28.91.
Kane Jones finished 5th overall with a time of 18:00.06, followed closely by Connor Lambert who was 7th with a time of 18:15.73. The other Maroon Devil scorers were Cory Wolf (14th, 19:01.32) and Abhi Patel (17th, 19:23.68).
For his efforts Connor Brown was named the Smoky Mountain Conference Runner of the Year.
