The importance of the Maroon Devils being at home cannot be understated. Swain is an unbelievable 59-4 all time at Swain County Memorial Stadium, Boyce Deitz Field, read it again – 59-4. So yes there is a decided home field advantage for the Maroon Devils in playing at home in the playoffs.
But that home field advantage is not possible without the citizens of Swain County and Maroon Devil fans. You see this is not a record for Swain football, this is Swain County’s record. All of us. The students at Swain High School, the fans for Swain football, and all of Swain County own this record.
