Bryson City – Swain had a long weekend of baseball games, as the Devils traveled to Robbinsville last Thursday and hosted Pisgah on Monday. In SMC action the Devils downed Robbinsville 9-4. Then on Monday the Devils dropped a close one to Pisgah by the score of 8-6.
Against Robbinsville Damian Lossiah had 3 hits and drove in 3 runs, while Dawson Chambers and Gaige Southards each had a pair of hits. Southards scored two runs and Jesse Waldroup added a pair of runs as well.
Colby Taylor and Carson Taylor combined on the mound. Colby picked up the win by working 5 innings, striking out 9 and scattering 5 hits. Carson worked 2 innings striking out 4 of the 6 batters he faced.
Monday the Devils held a 5-3 lead heading into the 7th inning, but could not hold the Bears off as Pisgah rallied to score 5 runs in the top half of the inning.
Gaige Southards, Daniel Ammons and Hunter Call each had a pair of hits. Call drove in 2 runs, while Ammons and Southards each scored 2 runs.
Dawson Chambers worked 6 innings, striking out 2 and walking 2 while giving up 7 hits.
