Bryson City – Murphy scored twice in the top of the 7th inning to take a 5-4 lead and then held off Swain in the bottom of the 7th to take the win. The Maroon Devils had taken the lead at 4-3 in the bottom of the 6th by scoring 3 runs.
For the Maroon Devils Damian Lossiah was 3-3 with a run scored, while Gaige Southards and Colby Taylor were both 2-3 on the day. Southards had a double to his credit and scored a run. Taylor also doubled and drove in a pair of runs. Connor Hyatt drove in the other Swain run on the night.
Gaige Southards worked 6 and two thirds innings taking a tough loss. Southards gave up only 2 runs in his six plus innings, scattering 6 hits, walking 4 and striking out 4.
