Bryson City – Swain scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning on Tuesday on their way to a 6-2 win over visiting Hayesville. The Maroon Devils played at “home” even though they traveled to the Rec Park to play the game due to poor field conditions at the High School field.
Dawson Chambers went 3-4 with an rbi and a double to his credit. Ian Brooks and Gaige Southards both had 2 hits and scored twice, Southards added a pair of rbi, while Brooks had an rbi. Caleb Taylor added a pair of rbi to the Swain cause. Connor Hyatt, Damian Lossiah, Taylor and Hunter Call added a hit each.
On the mound the Taylor boys did all the work. Colby Taylor tossed 5 strong innings scattering 6 hits while striking out 4 before giving way to Carson Taylor for the final 2 innings. Carson yielded 2 hits and struck out a pair.
