Bryson City – The Maroon Devils scored 11 runs in the 1st inning before costing to an 18-3 win over visiting Blue Ridge Early College. Swain debuted sharp looking new uniforms in their season opener.
Colby Taylor picked up the win for the Devils working 3 2/3 innings while scattering 2 hits to go with 5 strikeouts. Taylor had plenty of support from the offense. Swain had 8 hits and 15 rbi in producing their 18 runs.
Again it was Taylor who led the way with a pair of hits in 2 at bats, driving in 4 runs and scoring 2. Gaige Southards, Hunter Call, Dawson Chambers and Caleb Taylor drove in 2 runs each . Swain worked 11 walks on the day.
