A MAROON OUT is a spin-off of the traditional “whiteout” that started back in the 1980’s to unify fans and create an intimidating atmosphere for the opposing team to play in.
A MAROON OUT is defined by every fan that is coming to support the Maroon Devils wearing something primarily maroon and to together create a sea of maroon in the stands. If every single Swain fan that is to attend Friday’s game participates in the MAROON OUT it will create a very challenging atmosphere for Hendersonville to combat with during the game.
The amount of support that a MAROON OUT will show to the football will be tremendous, it will increase their level of play and intensity so much that it could be a game changer. The players will be reminded of all the support they have continually through the game, and how many people have some to watch them compete.
If you have been following the news over the past week this forthcoming game has stirred up a lot of hype in Western North Carolina and there is going to be a lot of eyes on Swain County this weekend. This is the time to show massive support for the Maroon Devils by our small tightly knit community to come together and unanimously show support by participating in the MAROON OUT!

This Friday night I encourage you and your family and friends to put on the most maroon that you can and show up to support the Swain High Maroon Devils at 7:30pm as they take on the Hendersonville Bearcats in the third round of the NCHSAA 1AA Playoffs.
