Murphy
The Maroon Devil faithful answered the call to arms last Friday night. With the biggest game of the year (so far) in Murphy the Maroon Machine rolled into town. Easily drawing as many if not a few more than Murphy’s faithful, the Machine was loud and strong throughout the game, something not lost on Swain’s Neil Blankenship.
“Our fans, were just tremendous tonight,” commented Blankenship following the win. “They were a factor all night long. That alone is huge, considering we might get home field advantage the rest of the way in the playoffs, if it is, and our fans can bring it each week like this, then we will have a huge advantage.”
As it turns out the Devils will in fact be at home for the duration of the playoffs, the only traveling they will have to do is for the State Title game if they make it that far.
Normally the Devil fans do better on the road than at home, so the fans will have to make a concerted effort to be extra loud to give the Devils the home field advantage they will need to reach their ultimate goal.
One thing is for sure, there will be some very tough games on the road to a state title. The Maroon Machine needs to make sure that there is a home field advantage for Swain in each and every game, until the end.
