Bryson City – Friday during halftime of the Maroon Devils football game, Swain County High School honored five more of our state champions from the 2017 Women’s Track Team. Last season the Lady Devils 4×800 meter Relay team won the North Carolina 1A State Championship with a time of 10 minutes and 10.14 seconds. This is the second state championship in the last three years for the Lady Devils 4×800 meter Relay team. Coach Roper and Coach Richards presented the girls with their state championship rings.
Mallerie Clampitt – Mallerie is a rising sophomore this year and was also a member of our state championship 4×400 meter relay team this past season.
Rebecca Duncan – Rebecca is a rising sophomore this year.
Lily Richards – Lily is a rising junior this year.
Lynsey Hicks – Lynsey is a rising senior this year and was also a member of our state championship 4×400 meter relay team this past season. This is Lynsey’s 5th state championship ring as a member of the Lady Devils Track Team.
Emma Pindur – Emma is a rising senior this year and was also a member of the state championship 4×400 meter relay team this past season, as well as the North Carolina 1A state champion in the 800 meter run. This is Emma’s 7th state championship ring as a member of the Lady Devils Track team.
And just in case you didn’t notice, all of these girls will be back to defend their title this upcoming season!
