Rosman – The Maroon Devils finished second as a team, but had five different wrestlers who came away with SMC Championships on the day. Swain dominated the upper weight classes by taking championships in the 195, 220, and 285 pound classes.
In the 106 pound class Nathan Brock moved his record to 23-10 on the season as he won the Smoky Mountain Conference Championship by pinning his man in the finals.
Senior Chris Miller continued his sensational season with a conference championship. Miller is now 29-3 on the season.
In the 195 pound championships Will Paul came away with first place. Paul, 14-4, took the semifinals with a 5-2 decision and followed that with a 9-4 decision in the championship.
Craig Cutshaw took the 220 pound class. Cutshaw, 28-6, recorded pinfalls over both his semifinal and finals opponents.
Corbin Wildcatt took the 285 pound class, also by pinfall wins over his semifinal and finals opponents. Wildcatt is now 28-2 on the season.
