Bryson City – Swain won their 5th straight Saturday as they downed Franklin 90-72, the 90 points marked Swain’s highest point total of the season. The Maroon Devils shot a blistering 70% from the field and 40% from beyond the 3-point line in downing the Panthers. One night earlier the Devils downed Andrews 74-53 to go to 3-1 in Smoky Mountain Conference play.
Saturday Swain got a game high 23 points from Phinehas Little, who shot 11 of 14 from the floor. Grant Shuler finished with 22 points to go along with 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Evan Bradley tallied a season high 9 assists, while Brier Younce added 5 assists and 9 points for Swain.
Swain pulled away from Andrews with a huge 32 point second quarter that lead to the 74-53 final score. Shuler paced Swain with a game high 21 points on 8 of 10 shooting. Shuler also had a team high 9 rebounds. Zeke Bradley added 14 points, while Evan Bradley finished with 13 points and 7 assists. Brier Younce finished with 6 points and 6 assists.
