Chapel Hill – The NCHSAA announced standings in the Wells Fargo Cup conference standings through the fall sports season. Swain leads the Smoky Mountain Conference.

Smoky Mountain 1-A: Swain County jumps out in front of the field this fall, with a first-place finish in men’s and women’s cross country and second place in football. Murphy and Hayesville are neck and neck in second place. Murphy had third-place finishes in football and men’s and women’s cross country, while volleyball was the top finish for Hayesville. Conference Standings: Swain County 51, Murphy 43, Hayesville 42.5, Robbinsville 31, Rosman 30.5, Highlands 26.5, Cherokee 25, Blue Ridge 23.5, Hiwassee Dam 16, Andrews 15, Nantahala 6.
