Bryson City – Swain plated 5 runs in the bottom of the 1st and then made that stand up for a close 8-7 win over visiting Andrews. The Maroon Devils had to come up with some late game heroics to earn the win though. It would take key hits by Dawson Lowe and Zach Epps to score Jamie Oocumma with the winning run in the bottom of the 7th.
Andrews scored 2 runs in the top of the 7th to tie the game at 7. Jamie Oocumma led off the Devils half of the 7th by reaching base after being hit by a pitch. Zach Epps followed with a single. Dawson Lowe sent the Maroon Nation home happy as he singled to score Oocumma with the game winning run.
Epps was 3-4 with a double an rbi and a run scored. Lowe finished 1-1 with 3 walks and an rbi, while Trae Bradley went 2-3 with a run scored and an rbi. Matt Waldroup and Jake Marr scored a pair of runs each. The Maroon Devils ran at will stealing 14 bases as a team. Trae Bradley, Zach Epps, and Matt Waldroup each had 3 steals.
On the mound the Devils got solid performances from Trae Bradley, Dawson Lowe, and Jamie Oocumma. Oocumma picked up the win, pitching one scoreless inning of relief. Bradley started the game and threw five innings giving up 2 earned runs and striking out 3.
