Bryson City – Swain finished with 87 points, good enough for 2nd place behind Robbinsville who finished with 97. Andrews was third with 69 and Highlands 4th with 12.
Lydia Sale took home 2 firsts and a second place finish for the Lady Devils. The senior was first in both the 100 meter (13.12) and the long jump (14’8.25″). Sale picked up a second place finish in the triple jump by clearing 32’8.5″. Swain’s only other first place finish by an individual came in the 400 meter run, where Maggie Burns took first with a time of 1:02.2. Burns also finished second in the long jump with a jump of 14′. Swain also took first in the 4×800 relay, team member names were not submitted. Sarah Hyatt finished 3rd in the 200 meter dash with a time of 29.66.
Emmy Pindur and Lynsey Hicks picked up points for Swain by finishing 2nd and 3rd in the 1600 meter run. Pindur added a 3rd place finish in the 800 meter run. Kylie Pond and Jenna Crutchfield added to the strong showing by the Lady Devils in distance runs by finishing 2nd and 4th respectively in the 3200 meter run.
Emma Blythe took 2nd in the shot put with a toss of 29’1″, followed closely by Faith Long who finished 4th. Blythe then added a 3rd place finish in the discus. Samantha Thomas cleared 9′ in the pole vault, good enough for 2nd place overall. Emily Styles added a 3rd place in the high jump by clearing 4’8″.
