Bryson City – Swain pulled away in the second and third quarters Tuesday on their way to a regular season ending 62-56 win over visiting Andrews. After leading by one at the end of the first quarter, the Devils outscored Andrews by 11 over the next 16 minutes to build a 12 point lead going into the fourth quarter. Swain then held Andrews off down the final 8 minutes to secure the win.
Sophomore Grant Shuler finished with a game high 26 points to pace Swain, Shuler added 11 rebounds (all coming in the second half), 4 blocked shots and 3 assists. Shuler also made good on six straight free throws down the stretch to help put the game away. Phinehas Little chipped in 12 points, while Noah Hicks and Drew Ball added 7 each. Hicks also finished with a game high 6 assists, while Jake Marr added 9 rebounds for the Devils.
Prior to the game the Maroon Devils honored their six retiring seniors with a ceremony. The seniors are Drew Ball, Noah Hicks, Jake Frizzell, Jarrett Shuler, Ben Miller, and Cody Cooper.
