Bryson City – The Maroon Devils used solid performances from their most experienced wrestlers to post a 66-18 conference win over Hayesville Tuesday. Swain started with 5 forfeit wins, but dropped the two lone matches with the Jackets. Chris Miller (138), Austin Padilla (145), Graham Allen (152), and Ross Ensley (182) changed all of that by taking pins in their respective matches.
Miller picked up the first match win for the Devils by pinning his man at the 1:29 mark in the 1st period. Padilla, in the 145 class, followed Miller and pinned his man at the 1:06 mark in the 3rd period. Allen followed in the 152 class and took the pinfall at the 0:49 mark in the 1st period. Two classes later Ensley finished things up for the Devils with a pin at the 0:29 mark in the 1st period.
Spencer McCoy (220), Corbin Wildcatt (Hwt), Colt Thomasson (106), Dylan McLeod (120), Raine Bradley (126), Coleman Jenkins (160), and Alec Lay (170) all took wins by forfeit.
