CHEROKEE – The Lady Devils SMC Tournament ended in the 1st round Wednesday night. Robbinsville ran out to a 16-5 advantage in the 1st quarter, and then extended the lead to take a 63-39 win and advancing in the tournament. Swain battled back, cutting the lead to 10 at the half, but in the 2nd half Robbinsville pulled away. The Lady Devils were hampered by foul trouble to leading scorer Alea Tisho, who eventually fouled out with only 12 points, 7 below her season average. Valerie Arkansas, in her 1st game back following an ankle injury, added 12 points to the Swain cause.
Robbinsville advances to the 2nd round where they will play Hayesville.
