Maggie Sutton had a game high 8 aces for the Lady Devils
Coming off their successful 4-2 run at Disney the Lady Devils jumped right back into SMC play on Tuesday. Showing no ill effects Swain took a 3-0 sweep from Robbinsville to move to 4-0 in SMC play and 8-3 overall.
In game 1 Swain used a smothering hitting attack that accounted for 17 of their 25 points as they took game 1 by the score of 25-23. The Lady Devils added 3 aces to account for 20 of their 25 points. Michelle Morgan, Lydia Sale, and Jenn Brown all had 4 kills each while Alyssa Robinson added 3.
Game 2 was more about Robbinsville mistakes, as the Lady Devils roared out to a an easy 25-12 win. Michelle Morgan had 3 aces, and Jenn Brown added 2 as Swain was dominate from the serving line. Brown added 6 kills in game 2.
Robbinsville rebounded in game 3 and looked as though they would take the win. With the score tied senior Maggie Sutton stepped to the service line. Sutton came up aces, 5 in row to be exact. Sutton served 7 total times with 6 of them being aces during the stretch. Behind Sutton’s hot serves the LadyDevils took control and rounded out game 3 with a 25-15 win.
For the match Jenn Brown had a game high 13 kills, while Michelle Morgan added 7 and Alyssa Robinson and Lydia Sale had 5 each. Valerie Arkansas finished with 27 assists. Sutton finished with 8 aces in 15 service attempts.
