The Maroon Devils fought through adversity all day long to take 2nd place at the NCHSAA Western Regionals this past Saturday. It was a strong finish for the Maroon Devils who had 93 points and were second to Mountain Island Charter who finished with 135 and easily ahead of third place Starmount who had 58.5.
Here are just a few of the highlights on the day:
*Matthew Gray in Pole Vault – 15’0 – 1A Western Regional Record!
*Kelan McCullough: Qualified for state in three events as a Freshman and set the SCHS school record in the long jump (20’11).
*Connor Brown finished 1st in the 1600 meter.
