Bryson City – The Swain High wrestling team had 4 individuals earn Smoky Mountain Conference Championships this past Saturday at the SMC Championships, which were held at Swain.
Kale Stephenson scored a decision to take the championship in the 113 pound weight class. John Parton took the 120 pound championship with a decision. Austin Jenkins earned top honors in the 138 pound weight class with a pin fall. And Gabe Lillard took the championship in the 170 pound weight class with a decision.
The Maroon Devils also got 2nd place finishes from Owen Craig (126), Rocky Barker (132), Israel Ferguson (145), Clay Slagle (152), Matthew Ferguson (182), Blake Sain (195), Carson Taylor (220) and Connor Driver (285).
