Bryson City – Saturday Swain notched the first win of the Josh Griffith era, as well as their first win of the season. The Lady Devils used a 2nd quarter that saw them outscore the visiting Eagles of Hiwassee Dam 15-3 to erase a 6 point deficient and go into halftime with a 21-15 lead. It would be a lead that they would not relinquish as they went on to take a 44-33 win.
Amaya Hicks sparked the Lady Devils with perhaps her best game as a Lady Devil. The junior guard scored a game high 17 points to help lead her team. Hicks added 6 rebounds and a pair of assists to her stellar night. Mazie Helpman, who was limited with an injury, adding 9 points and 5 rebounds. Maddie Spates chipped in 7 points and 6 rebounds in the win.
