Kituwah – Saturday the NCHSAA held their Western 1A Regional Cross Country Championships at Kituwah. Some 117 runners representing 17 teams participated in the event. The Cherokee Braves took the Western Regional with 73 points, followed by Christ the King Catholic School (91), Draughn (104) and Swain also with 104 points.
Swain standout Connor Brown finished 4th overall with a time of 16:57.82. Kane Jones was 8th overall, followed by Connor Lambert (14th), Corey Wolf (32) and Adhi Patel (54) who rounded out the Swain scoring.
Swain’s fourth place finish earned them a trip to this weekends State Championship meet, as a team.
