Bryson City – Friday the Lady Devils hosted Owen in their final nonconference game of the season. On the previous Monday the two teams met at Owen with the Warlassies taking a close 3-2 win. This time around the Lady Devils evened the score by taking a 2-1 win in another well played tight game.
In the 4th inning Maddie Spates drew a walk. One out later Haileigh Woodard also drew a walk. Both runners advanced to second and third respectively on a wild pitch. Spates would score on another wild pitch, which advanced Woodard to third. Senior third baseman Kandyce Crisp singled down the third base line to score Woodard, putting the Lady Devils up 2-0.
That would be all the run support the Devils would need on the day. Rylee Rawls was fantastic in the circle as she scattered 8 hits walked 2 and struck out 5 giving up one unearned run.
