Bryson City – Visiting Highlands got off to a solid start Tuesday building an 11 point halftime lead over the Lady Devils. Swain went ice cold down the stretch, scoring only 3 points in the 4th quarter, which allowed Highlands to distance themselves and take a 49-33 nonconference win.
Seniors Maddie Spates and Amaya Hicks paced Swain with 8 points each. Hicks would add 6 rebounds and a pair of assists. Makayla Cody finished with 6 rebounds and a pair of blocked shots for the Devils.
Friday the Lady Devils host Nantahala in nonconference action.
