Bryson City – The Lady Devils started strong on Tuesday building an 8-1 lead through the first two innings. Swain didn’t let up though pounding out 14 hits in taking a 15-4 win over visiting Andrews.
The Devils got a big night from lone senior Savana Smith. Smith finished going 2-2 and driving in 4 runs while scoring 2 herself. Faith Woodard went 3-4 with a pair of runs scored and a pair of rbi. Tori Johnson and Hannah Shuler both were 2-3 on the day, with Shuler driving in 4 runs and tripling. Maddie Spates scored 3 runs, and doubled off the top of the fence, narrowly missing a home run.
In the circle Hannah Shuler continued her good work. Shuler worked 5 full innings, giving up only 2 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 4.
The Lady Devils will finish up the regular season Thursday as they travel to Andrew.
