Special to the MDN – The Lady Devils soccer team traveled to take on Tuscola High School on Monday to take on the 3A Mountaineers. The Devils would score first 22 minutes into the game when Freshman Karena Cline would score from 25 yards out off a pass from Senior Avery Maples. The rest of the first half would remain scoreless.
Twelve minutes into the second half Senior Mazie Helpman would battle through some defenders and score the Lady Devils second goal of the game. The game would finish with the Lady Devils taking a 2-0 win. “Overall we played a good game.” said Head Coach Scott Cline. “We were able to keep the ball on the ground and make some good connecting passes.”
On Defense Sophomore Anna Gray led the way with 10 Steals/Clears, followed by Freshman Karena Cline with 7, and Senior Jadyn Perez and Senior Avery Maples each with 5. In the game, Sophomore Emmie Fuller recorded 7 goalkeeper saves.
