Bryson City – Tuesdays much anticipated showdown between the top two teams in the Smoky Mountain Conference turned into a one sided affair. Hayesville used big nights from their top two players to pull away in the second half and cruise to a 80-55 win over the Devils. A banked three at the halftime buzzer extended the Jackets halftime lead from three to six, and it seemed to be downhill from there for the Devils as the Jackets outscored them 44-25 over the second half.
Hayesville seniors Kolbe Ashe and Jake McTaggert were dominate for the Jackets. Ashe finished with a game high 27 points to go with 6 assists. McTaggert dominated the paint with a 20 point double-double, finishing with 23 points and 24 rebounds.
On the Swain side Isaiah Collins finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Donnavin Groenewald had 12 first half points for the Devils.
