Bryson City (Special to the MDN) – Tryouts were held all across the state of North Carolina over the past few months for the BodyArmor State Soccer games. Players were selected for each of the teams in each of the four regions of the state. The teams will play in Raleigh on June 19th and 20th to determine the top region in the state.
Swain High is going to be well represented as a total of five players were selected from the Swain High Boys and Girls teams. The Head Coach for the Boy’s team is Ric Lester from Bandys High School and the Assistant is Filk Wilkinson also from Bandys. They selected Senior Zachary Cline and Sophomore Landon Matz from Swain. The Head Coach for the West team for the Girls is Scott Cline from Swain and the Assistant Coach is Kayla Lindsey from Hendersonville. They selected Senior Isabelle Green, Junior Mazie Helpman and Freshman Anna Gray to play on the team.
