Bryson City – The Maroon Devils entered the 7th inning trailing Rosman 4-1. Swain rallied scoring 2 runs to make it 4-3, but were unable to get any more runs giving Rosman a 4-3 win.
In the 7th Cooper Hyatt started the inning with a line shot to left. With Hyatt on first Ronnie Griggs roped a double to right center. With Hyatt on third and Griggs on second the Devils got back to back ground ball outs from Brenn Jackson and Will Jenkins to score both Hyatt and Griggs.
Swain’s other run came in the bottom of the 1st. Gabe Lillard lined a single to left to open things for Swain. Cameron Blankenship sacrificed Lillard to second with a bunt. Lillard would advance to third on a wild pitch and then score on a sacrifice fly from Carson Taylor.
Lillard and Hyatt were both 2-3 on the day, while Griggs, Jackson and Damian Lossiah had a hit each for the Devils.
