Bryson City (Special to the MDN) – Across the state of North Carolina the state is broken into different regions for soccer. Region 10, which Swain is part of with 15 other schools, held their annual meeting for Men’s soccer recently. Swain had 5 players in the 13 available spots that were recognized as All Region Players. The five players that were honored for All Region were Senior Chase Burrell, Sophomore Landon Matz, Sophomore Matthew Gray, Senior Noel Wolf, and Senior Zachary Cline.
Coach Scott Cline was recognized as the Region 10 Coach of the Year. Two players from the Region were also selected to be put on the ballot as nominations for the Region for All-State voting. Swain had the number one overall player from the region with Senior Zachary Cline and Polk County had the number two player with Matias Akers.
