Kernersville – The Maroon Devil cross country team wrapped up their season with a trip to the NCHSAA State 1A Cross Country Championships this past Saturday. Swain finished 6th overall on the day. The Devils finished in a tie with Franklin Academy but owned the tie breaker giving them 6th and Franklin Academy 7th. Lincoln Charter took first place, followed by Community School of Davidson, Murphy (3rd), Bishop McGuinness (4th) and South Stanley (5th).
Austin San Souci finished his season with a solid 16th place finish. San Souci’s time was 18:08.13. Aaron Rovnak of Franklin Academy finished first with a time of 16:47.65.
