Bryson City – Swain Athletics is pausing volleyball and women’s basketball activities. Please see the full statement below for more details. Middle School volleyball and women’s basketball are also paused at this time. It is important to note that women’s cross country is not included in this stoppage, nor are any men’s activities at both the High School and Middle School. Athletic officials along with Swain County Superintendent Mark Sale have stated that their hope is to return to play on December 28th, but have also stated that they will return to play when it is safe for all parties. At this point the stoppage only effects the Rosman volleyball match from Thursday, and practices over the Christmas Holiday. The Rosman match will be rescheduled after Christmas.
