Bryson City – It took a tight 3 sets but Robbinsville eventually emerged with a win over the JV Lady Devils in volleyball action last Friday. In the 1st set Swain got aces from Sarah Cutshaw and Amaya Hicks to go along with a kill from Maddie Spates to put them over the top and take a 25-20 win. Robbinsville took the 2nd set by the score of 25-18.
In the crucial 3rd set both teams went back and forth, with Robbinsville eventually building a 5 point advantage at 12-7. Maddie Spates and Haileigh Woodard both had crucial kills to pull the Lady Devils back to 12-9. But it wouldn’t be enough as the Black Knights held on to take a 15-10 win, giving them the match.
