Bryson City – The Middle School volleyball team fell behind 9-1 to open the match on Wednesday against Hiwassee Dam Ranger. Swain would spend the rest of the match digging their way out both figuratively and literally. They would cut the lead to 23-21 before falling in the 1st set 25-23. While Swain opened stronger in the 2nd set, holding a 6-4 lead, they would not be able to hold on in the middle part of the match. Ranger eventually built up a 20-14 advantage before closing out the 2nd set by the score of 25-22, to take a 2-0 win.
