Bryson City – Mazie Helpman notched a career high last Tuesday, but it wasn’t enough to help the Lady Devils. In a foul plagued contest Blue Ridge Early College came away with a 87-82 win over the Lady Devils. Sixty total fouls were called on the two teams, with 7 players, fouling out on the night, and 5 more ended the game with 4 fouls. The Bobcats generated 36 points from the free throw line
Helpman led all scorers with her 42 points. The sophomore forward made good on 9 field goals, 3 3-point shots and 15 free throws on the way to her career night. Helpman also filled out the stat sheet with 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocked shots.
Savana Smith chipped in 15 points, while Ashton Younce had 12 rebounds and 6 assists.
