Cherokee – Cherokee used a strong push over the late second quarter and third quarter to pull away and down the Lady Devils 74-46 on Tuesday. Cold shooting plagued the Lady Devils on the night, as they got plenty of the shots they wanted but could get few to drop shooting 30% from the field for the game. Swain only tallied one shot all night outside of the paint, including no made 3-point shots.
At the free throw line things were not much better for Swain as the Lady Devils made only 10 of 25 (40%). To add to the shooting problems Swain also had 23 turnovers.
Mazie Helpman paced Swain with a team high 18 points to go along with 3 assists and 3 steals. Savanna Smith chipped in 12 points to go with 7 rebounds.
