Hayesville – By the end of last Thursday’s meet, “It is a PR course” was being said by many of your Swain County High School XC runners. In all, 7 SCHS runners broke their personal record at The Buck Carney Invitational hosted by Hayesville High School. The girls continued to show great growth with 5 total PRs, led by Gracie Monteith (22:14 pr) and a 3rd place finish, Amelia Rogers (22:50 pr) 7th place finish, Emily Ulaner (23:19 pr) 13 place finish led the girls team to a 3rd place overall finish with 3A, 2A, and teams from Georgia competing. Ericka Wachacha (27:07 pr) and Katie Mae Roland finished out the top five. Katie Simonds also set her personal record with a time of 30:30.
On the boys side, Austin San Souci led the charge with a 17th place finish, followed by Elijah Bryant (21:43 pr), John Schuler (22:18 pr), Jaxon McClung and Rider Maddox rounded out the top five and a 10th place overall finish for the boys.
Their next meet will be Tuesday, October 8th at Robbinsville High School. Please come out and support your SCHS XC runners.
