Bryson City – Thursday, September 26th, the Swain County Athletic Hall of Fame held their Induction Ceremony for the Class of 2019. Gary Ayers was on hand to MC the event. The Class of 2019 is the 18th class to be inducted into the Hall of Fame since it’s inception back in 2002. One of 5 inductees was Ryan McMahan.

Played 3 sports at Swain and was outstanding in all 3 • In football he was All SMC, All WNC & All State during senior season • Set school record & led the state in interceptions (12), was also 6th in the nation in interceptions • Rushed for 2058 yards in his career • Two time All SMC in basketball • Led team in scoring during junior & senior seasons • Finished his career with over 1000 points scored • Selected to Blue/White All-Star basketball game • Two time All SMC selection in baseball • Set school record for stolen bases with 38 • Finalist for WNC 1A/2A Male Athlete of the Year
