Cherokee (Special to the Maroon Devils Network) – Swain Varsity Cross Country traveled to Cherokee for a Cross Country meet Saturday morning. The meet consisted of most the conference teams, teams from Jackson, Buncombe and Haywood Counties and one team travelling down from Tennessee. The girls again had a great day. Led by freshmen, Gracie Monteith, finishing 7th overall with another personal record, and Amelia Rogers, finishing 9th with a huge personal record, the girls placed 4th overall. Rounding out a great day was Emily Ulaner, personal record time, Katie Roland, and Erika Wachacha finishing in the teams top 5. Freshman Lauryn Linton ran a personal record time for the girls as well.
The boys finished 8th overall, but every boy ran a season best time. Led by freshman Austin SanSouci, 12th overall, followed by Dhruv Senghani, Jaxon McClung, Elijah Bryant, and Rider Mattox the boys continue to make steady progress towards the top of the conference. Also finishing for the boys team John Schuler and Josh Hornbuckle.
The next meet will Be Thursday, September 26th, in Hayesville, NC.
