Bryson City – Wednesday the Lady Devil volleyball team made it two in a row to start the season with an impressive 3-0 sweep over visiting Asheville School. Swain fell behind early in the first set, but finished strong taking it by the score of 25-20, and carried that momentum into the second set where they posted a 25-15 win. In the third set the Lady Devils continued their solid play posting a 25-16 win to sweep the match 3-0.
Senior middle hitter Kaitlin Anthony turned in a solid performance, finishing with a team high 11 kills to go with 3 blocks. Kenzie Eagleman and Jenna Marr finished with 6 kills each in the win. Setter Katie Winchester dished out 14 assists while Ashton Younce finished with 9. At the service line Marr, Younce and Hannah Epperson were stellar with 2 aces each.
The Lady Devils go on the road for the first time this season this evening as they are heading to Pisgah for a non conference match.
