Special to the Maroon Devils Network – The golf team traveled to Sapphire National on Thursday March 28th to play against Blue Ridge, Rosman, Cherokee, and Highlands. The team finished first with a 186, second Highlands 191, and third Blue Ridge 198. Leading the Devils was Junior Isaac Baker with a 42. Senior Nick Dole was one shot behind him with a 43. Rounding out the top four was Sophomore Ashton Buchanan with a 50 and Junior TJ Shuler with a 51. Then the team played at home at Sequoyah National. Once again, the young golf team placed first with a team score of 184. Cherokee placed second with a 188 and third was Murphy with a 189. Setting the pace for the team was Isaac Baker with another 42. Placing second on the team and shooting his lowest round of the season was TJ Shuler with a 44. Ashton Buchanan and Joe Eagleman both finished the day with a 49. The team will travel to The Ridges on Thursday. Tee time is at 3:30 pm.
