Bryson City – Swain used strong pitching from Stacey Griggs and a 4 run 5th inning to take a 7-3 win from visiting Hayesville on Tuesday. The Lady Devils score a run in each of the first two innings to back Griggs strong performance.
In earning her 2nd win of the season Griggs pitched six strong innings, striking out a season high 10 batters, scattering 4 hits and giving up one earned run. Kenzie Eagleman worked the 7th inning in relief of Griggs.
At the plate Eagleman drove in a pair of runs with a single in the Lady Devils 4 run 5th inning. Kendall Bowers continued her blazing hot start by going 3-3 and scoring a run. Savana Smith finished a solid performance going 2-2 with an rbi and 2 runs scored, while Ashton Younce added two hits and a pair of runs. Kele Eagleman and Brayden Taylor drove in a run each.
