Bryson City – The Lady Devils opened their season on Tuesday with a conference matchup against Rosman. Swain scored 4 runs in the 3rd inning, then held off a Tiger rally in the 6th to take a 4-2 win.
In the circle the Lady Devils got a strong outing from sophomore Stacey Griggs. Griggs scattered 7 hits while striking out 8 and allowing no earned runs.
Junior Kenzie Eagleman started her season strong by going 3-3 with a pair of rbi and stolen bases to go along with one run scored. Griggs and Mazie Helpman drove in the other two Swain runs. Brayden Taylor and Kendall Bowers had a hit each and each scored a run.
