Bryson City – On a night set aside to honor their seniors the Maroon Devils downed Cherokee 72-10 for another conference win. The match consisted of only 4 individual matches, as Cherokee was only able to fill the four due to injuries.
Of the four matches the Maroon Devils took wins in three. First Zach Cline took a pinfall win in the 126 pound division. Cline’s win put the Devils in front as Cherokee had scored their 10 points in the first two matches of the night. One by major decision and the other in the form of a forfeit.
Hunter Burrell made the most of his senior night. In the 160 pound division Burrell pinned his man with only 7 seconds remaining in the match. Damian Lossiah turned in Swain’s final match win of the night with a second period pin over his man in the 170 pound division.
Prior to the match Swain honored their seven seniors. The seniors are Noland Brown, Hunter Burrell, Jack Cooper, Samuel Green, Seth Ledford, Cyle Ponchot and Caleb Shields.
