Asheville – The Citizen-Times recently released their All WNC Football 1st and 2nd teams. Swain’s Noland Brown was a 2nd team offensive line selection by the paper. Brown joins 4 other Smoky Mountain Conference Players on the 2nd team. Those players were Slade McTaggert (Murphy), Cade Mintz (Cherokee), Dallas Rayburn (Murphy) and Micah Nelson (Murphy).
For the Maroon Devils Noland Brown was a captain, as well as the anchor of both the offensive and defensive lines as the senior played both ways. On offense Brown was the lynchpin on a line that produced 3382 yards rushing, averaging 260 yards per game, and included two 1000 yard rushers. Defensively Brown consistently occupied two blockers for a defense that only allowed 135 rushing yards per game.
