Bryson City – Sophomore center Taylor Collins is having a break out year. For the season Collins is now averaging right at 10 rebounds per game. She has 9 games of over 10 rebounds. This past Saturday she outdid herself by pulling down 21 rebounds. One night prior to her 21 rebound performance she tallied what was then a season high 17 against Hayesville.
Collins 21 rebound performance hit close to home, as it tied her mom Amanda for most rebounds in a game. Amanda Howell-Collins pulled down 21 rebounds back on February 22 of 1994 in a game against Cherokee. Pretty good bragging rights for the Collins household. Although Taylor may have trumped her mom by adding 31 points with her 21 rebounds.
