Bryson City – Franklin and Swain engaged in a back and forth affair throughout the 1st half of Saturday’s basketball game. The Panthers held a slim 42-39 advantage at the half, but then went on a 28 point run in the 3rd quarter to pull away and take an 89-66 win over the Devils. Swain was outscored 28-16 over the 3rd quarter.
Franklin got a game high 30 points from Zach De La Cruz to go with 20 from Brock Kloeppel.
Seth Parker paced Swain with 14 points and 6 rebounds, while Bradley Vestal added 13 points, Brier Younce 12 and Jesse Waldroup 11. Zeke Bradley finished with a game high 8 rebounds and 6 assists, while Gaige Southards dished out 5 assists.
